The mission of Kansas City Jazz ALIVE is to:

V-Function as a VOICE for the jazz community

The “Voice Committee” accepted the mission to develop a Speakers Bureau available to speak at meetings, conventions, business, schools, and other facilities as requested. The Speakers Bureau, led by Jen Enderson and Doug Rushing, strives to develop and maintain a fresh and on-going program that will introduce new audiences to the origins, personalities, sounds, and living traditions that define jazz music in general, and Kansas City jazz in particular. The goal of the KC Jazz Alive Speakers Bureau will be to focus not just on the past and present, but seek to demonstrate that the music has a vital future as well.

To participate as a speaker, KC Jazz ALIVE invites anyone with an enthusiastic interest in jazz to contact us and learn more about becoming a part of the Speakers Bureau. You must be willing to follow a basic outline of the message we hope to convey: that jazz is ALIVE in Kansas City, the fascinating history bound to Kansas City’s most notable and influential jazz figures, and the still vibrant live jazz presence in the city today!  Simply email with your interest and contact information and we will be touch within 24 hours!
